Job Summary
The School of Earth and Environment is investing in a number of Chair appointments. Here we seek to appoint a world leading climate modelling scientist with either regional or global research interests to provide a high level of research integration and enable existing research clusters to tackle problems of greater societal importance. The appointee will be expected to: provide cross-disciplinary leadership, enabling greater integration and expansion of existing experimental and modelling based research on climate and weather processes; provide the expertise to carry the research through to the modelling of regional and global implications for society; provide effective and direct links through to wider climate-related research, and help create an obvious hub of climate science expertise for the University; exploit and expand opportunities created through the Academic Partnership with the Met Office and our long-standing collaboration and shared staffing with the National Centre for Atmospheric Sciences. Salary The salary, which is negotiable, will be within the Professorial range - minimum £59,302 p.a.
