Awards for Leeds’ Careers Centre
The University’s Careers Centre won two prestigious national awards at the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) Biennial Conference on 14 September 2011.
The Centre won the Marketing Award for its "Engaging the Unengaged" marketing campaign, led by Nalayini Thambar, and the Staff Development Award for its work in the front-line training and development of staff gaining NVQ level 3 and 4 qualifications, led by Jane Conway.
The Awards encourage, reward and share good practice amongst higher education careers practitioners and recognise the high quality, creative, innovative and collaborative projects being undertaken.
AGCAS President, Anne-Marie Martin, said that the number and quality of nominations for the awards provided "evidence, if we need it, of the fantastic work that's taking place in careers and employability work in higher education. Anybody who has been shortlisted should feel very proud and make sure that people both inside and outside their institutions hear of their success."
