Half price theatre tickets for University staff
TinyHouse Productions are offering University staff discounted tickets for Anthony Neilson’s play "Normal" at the Carriageworks Theatre, from Wednesday 28 September to Saturday 1 October.
On 24 May 1930, Peter Kürten allowed himself to be arrested by the Düsseldorf police. He confessed to 79 offences, including theft, arson, assault, rape and murder. He was found guilty and sentenced to death... but before his legacy came to an end... he committed one final atrocity.
This claustrophobic drama delves into the life of Peter Kürten, the Düsseldorf Ripper, a dapper, mild-mannered and well-spoken German who in 1929-30 disposed of several of his fellow Düsseldorfers in various gruesome ways. More interesting than a litany of crimes, however, "Normal" traces the uneasy relationship developed between Kürten and his defence lawyer, Wehner, an emotionally stunted soul who acquires an uneasy empathy for the bloodier recesses of his client's mind.
Normal is stark, subversive, powerful, emotional and, most of all, utterly gripping.
PLEASE NOTE: Normal contains strong language and scenes that some may find upsetting.
Staff can purchase tickets at the discounted rate of £5 each by ing the Carriageworks box office on 0113 224 3801 and quoting "I am Normal".
