Law lecturer to become member of the International Insolvency Institute
Paul Omar, Senior Lecturer in Law, has been invited to become a member of the International Insolvency Institute.
Paul, whose research areas are in international and comparative insolvency, was nominated by Professor the Hon. Samuel Bufford (Pennsylvania State University and former United States Bankruptcy Judge) and Professor Christoph Paulus (Humboldt University Berlin).
He joins, among others, Professor Harry Rajak, Professor Emeritus at Sussex, as a member of this invitation-only body.
The International Insolvency Institute is an organisation engaged in the making of contributions in the international insolvency arena with a view to improving the international framework for cross-border and multinational reorganisations and restructurings.
Based in Washington DC, it is comprised of members from the academic, judicial, practice and regulatory sectors.
The institute has contributed to the work of the UNCITRAL Insolvency Law Project and has recently worked closely with the American Law Institute on a project looking at Guidelines for Court-to-Court in Cross-Border Cases.
