Major Smart Grid conference comes to Manchester
Registration is now open for a major international conference hosted by the The University of Manchester.
The 2nd IEEE PES International Conference and Exhibition on ‘Innovative Smart Grid Technologies – Europe 2011’ will take place from the 5th-7th December, hosted by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and held at Manchester Central Complex.
This will be one of the largest conferences on Smart Grids in Europe this year, with 16 keynote
speeches, 28 panels, over 250 abstracts accepted, and over 500 delegates expected to attend.
With delegates from over 40 countries world wide, this is will be a truly international forum for the participants to address and discuss the state-of-the-art innovation in smart grids. Delegates will be able to find out about recent developments in Smart Grids technologies in Europe as well as globally.
“This is the most important conference in Smart Grids in Europe in 2011,” said Peter Crossley, University of Manchester (Technical Programme Chair). “ISGT Europe is unique in that it answers requirements on every level, from manufactures to consultants, utilities to academics.”
The speaker line-up demonstrates the all-encompassing nature of this conference. Presenting keynotes will be leading figures from industry and academia, such as Professor Nikos Hatziargyriou (PPC), Steve Johnson (CEO, Electricity North West), Hans B. Püttgen (EPFL), and Felix Wu (University of Hong Kong). The Panel line up consists of the same diverse high quality, with internationally respected speakers like Roger Hey (Western Power Distribution), Carlo Alberto Nucci (University of Bologna), Matt Wakefield (EPRI) and Brian Stott (US National Academy of Engineering).
The conference brings with it ample learning opportunities, with several tutorials also included in this wide ranging line up. There will also be a large hall for exhibitors, providing the perfect opportunity for networking.
