Our winter graduation ceremonies take place between Tuesday 22 and Friday 25 November.

Virtuoso violinist Nicola Benedetti and chef and entrepreneur Martin Wishart are among those receiving honorary awards.

Professor Dame Joan Kathleen Stringer

The Principal of Edinburgh Napier University, Professor Dame Joan Kathleen Stringer, will receive the degree of Doctor honoris causa on Tuesday 22 November.

Nicola Benedetti, Suresh Kumar Goel and Martin Wishart

On Wednesday 23 November honorary degrees will be awarded to:

• Nicola Benedetti, classical violinist, for the degree of Doctor of Music.
• Suresh Kumar Goel, Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, for the degree of Doctor honoris causa.
• Martin Wishart, chef and entrepreneur, for the degree of Doctor honoris causa.

Professor John R Beddington, Charles Burch and Irene McTernan

On Thursday 24 November honorary degrees will be awarded to:

• Professor John R Beddington, UK Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser and Professor and Honorary Principal Research Fellow in Applied Population Biology at Imperial College London, for the degree of Doctor honoris causa.
• Charles Burch, The Kirby Laing Foundation, for the distinction of University Benefactor.
• Irene McTernan, Retiring Administrator of the University Sports Union, for the award of Honorary Fellow.
